Rolls-Royce Garbage truck
When Jai Singh visited the showrooms of Rolls-Royce in London, he was affronted when the salesman implied that he couldn't afford to purchase one of the sleek new models -- he promptly purchased 10, shipped them home, tore their roofs off, and used them to collect garbage.
You can't create gmail accounts with slang (bad bad words) in your name
Reacently I learnt that if your name contains a slang bad word as a part of it in a substring, you cant create an email account.
Examples are ***Shit*** ***Fcuk***** and so on

Why software defects are called bugs
The very first defect ever found in computer system was a real moth on Realy 70, Panel F of the Mark 2. This led to the first exercise of debugging.
Wanna see the pic of that celebrity moth and more details on this history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_bug#Etymology

Unix from Microsoft
Beleive it or not MS at one time was working on a 16 bit Unix version called Xenix.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenix
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenix
I wonder if we would have had Linux, Windows Mistake Edition (ME) or Mistake Edition 2 (Vista) if they had persuaded this path.
I guess that 8088 which was an 8 bit microprocessor was more in at that point of time which led to developement of DOS and we never got to see any more of Xenix.
I wonder if dropping of Xenix was a good thing for Unix or not???

Britannia and the Sheep jokes
Today I will bring a lot of useless stuff for you. The summary is how Britannia (England) used sheep jokes against the Welsh people.
First thing first What's Britannia?
Britannia is another name for England (not UK, UK comprises of England, Scotland and Whales ). The name Britannia comes from Britons which later became British. Britons are different from Saxons (as in Anglo Saxons).
Sheep Jokes are jokes in which we make fun of people of making out with Sheep hopefully with a pretty bow.
"An old Sheppard wanted to make a large mansion on his farm. He brings a famous architect who surveys his property, the old Sheppard say do whatever you want but don't cut down those two trees. The architect asks why? The man says that is a tree where I became a man, the architect respects his wishes and asks what about that one. The man replies, her mother saw us when I was becoming a man. Shocked the architect, says What did she say? The man says what else Bhaaa"
For a lot of Sheep jokes goto this link

Now coming to the topic at hand. British made fun or Welsh people (the ones from Whales) and most Sheep Jokes were about them as they were sheppards.... cruel but a basis of an entire culture....

Did you know Penelope Pitstop car had a viberator setting
Do you all remember wacky races http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wacky_Races ? The one in which likes of Dig Dastardly, Penelope Pitstop and others used to race in there strange cars.
Now Penelope 's car was called compact pussycat. It was a nice pink looking girly car which had all kinds of personal grooming things. One of the settings which is rather less known is that it had a viberator setting. Yes you got me right a viberator setting. I imagine what for.. a lonely girl running around... If you know what I mean.

Wecome to useless knowledge
Hi
I am starting this site because many times when I am having discussions with friends/colleagues over lunch and dinners. I end up telling facts which are utterly humorous and rather useless.
At times I am shocked that people are just not aware of these fact which I think are trivial
So this site will help me capture them... hope you like it
